Mahakala is the wrathful form of the gentle and compassionate Avalokiteshvara. Hs main colour is black, however, he also appears in other colours. He has two to six arms depends on his manifestation. He wears a crown of six skulls and his main task is to pacify hindrances, enriching life, virtue and wisdom. Mahakala is a personal deity of Karma Kyagu and main protective deity of Bhutan.
